“two households both alike in dignity…”

“…in fair Cape Town where we lay our scene.”
This is the opening of Romeo & Juliet. Our very first assignment in acting school was to memorize the entirety of this prologue. While we certainly hope to not end up like these star-crossed lovers, we are indebted to those first few months of our artistic training in New York (where we went from classmates to best friends) and to the iconic words of love that happened to underscore it. “Marry your best friend,” they say.
We feel very lucky to have gone through so much of life together already, and to be partners in art and life.
If you don’t know the story of how we got engaged together, check out this TikTok, and the New York Times article that came as a result of it!
